Our Story
It started as many relationships do: a text on an online dating platform. A simple “Hi Logan :)” became hours-long text message threads about board games, cooking, and outdoor adventures. We were both hooked when we realized our mutual affinity for complex board games. Logan suggested a first date at House Rules Lounge in downtown Grand Rapids, followed by an unplanned dinner at Downtown Market. A “we should do this again” text turned into a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th date. On date number 5 we made it official and haven’t looked back!
The Proposal
Saturday, July 6th, 2024 will always be one of our favorite days. We were up north in Traverse City with Logan’s family and decided that driving up Old Mission Peninsula would be a great way to end our trip. Along our drive, we saw translucent aquamarine-colored water, rolling hills of vineyards, and bright blue skies with wisps of white fluffy clouds. As we neared the state park at the tip of the peninsula, Logan began playing our favorite love songs. Upon arrival, we walked along a wooded trail surrounded by tall trees and lush greenery until we reached the beach. We wandered down the sand to a small cove ringed with tall dune grass and native plants on one side and a never-ending view of Lake Michigan on the other. As we stood in awe looking at the sparkling water, Logan got down on one knee and popped the question. The answer was, of course, YES!
